CRM and Engagement Marketing Manager

Kitces.com is hiring a CRM and Engagement Marketing Manager to be responsible for the production and execution of our email and web marketing campaigns and automations, gathering assets from stakeholders, deploying campaigns, and reporting on their results. This position will report into the Director of Engagement and will be a key team member in our growing Engagement Department, ensuring our communications are clear, actionable, and valued by our Readers and Members. TheCRM and Engagement Marketing Manager must love getting into the details, be able to work well with cross-functional teams and be able to think creatively about how to leverage the capabilities of marketing automation systems and CDP platform to deliver the right information to our Readers in order to deepen their relationship with Kitces.com.

Description/Responsibilities

This full-time, entirely virtually based staff position (work from anywhere, no relocation required!) will report to the Director of Engagement as a member of the Engagement department and work directly with other Kitces.com team members.

Core responsibilities include the following:

Email and Website Campaign Management

• Build, manage and deploy email marketing campaigns and automations in Exponea and ActiveCampaign that support our educational offerings for financial advicers, ensuring our communications are on-time and of high quality
• QA of marketing campaigns, including testing of all links and proper rendering
• Implement targeting strategy for our campaigns, including proper segmentation and dynamic content inclusion
• Update and build campaign supporting webpages and web placements using WordPress

Reporting and Testing Initiatives

• Collect marketing data and produce weekly reports on results
• Monitor campaigns for trends, and be able to suggest areas for improvement
• Build and deploy A/B and Multi-variate tests and report out on findings

CDP/Automations

• Assist in the migration from CRM to CDP, including building email templates and automations
• Assist in the setup of basic journeys for Readers and Members in our CDP, including goal setting and basic reporting
• Help monitor segments and personas along the various points of a journey and whether those journeys are successful at converting
• Help maintain list hygiene and update contacts as needed

In addition, the candidate should be highly adept at both written and verbal communication, with a focus on what we do and how we do it as it benefits our financial advicers. The candidate should also be extremely comfortable with Excel, Google Analytics, and enjoy uncovering trends.

Candidates must be U.S. Citizens, and work within a reasonable time zone to the Eastern United States.

The successful candidate will have completed a four-year marketing-related degree as well as at least 3 years of experience working in a CDP (e.g., Exponea) or an email marketing platform (e.g., ActiveCampaign, Mailchimp, Hubspot, ExactTarget, ActiveCampaign). Experience with WordPress and CSS skills is a plus, but not required.

Compensation/Benefits

– Base salary $50,000 – $70,000/year (depending on experience)

– Available bonus up to 12% of base salary (payable at up to 3%/quarter)

– $1,500 budget for additional financial planning education (i.e., post-CFP designations/certifications) or other training/skills education

– $2,000 budget for technology hardware/software or related office materials

– $1,500 conference budget

Front-End Developer

About The Role:

Kitces.com is hiring a Front-End Developer to be responsible for coding and designing front end user interfaces and experiences on our free public-facing website on WordPress, while creating new functionality for our visitors and paying members. In addition, the Front-End Developer will also build tools within WordPress and using ReactJS to integrate our current WordPress site with our back-end Kitces Advicer Database, and various third-party tools we use to deliver our services.

Description/Responsibilities
This entirely virtually-based staff position (work from anywhere, no relocation required!) will report directly to the Director of Platform & Reader Experience and work on a team led by our Lead Developer/System Architect.

• Design and implement front-end user interfaces and experiences
• Maintain and update WordPress including maintaining and developing plugins
• Engage in continuous site performance optimization
• Ensure SEO and accessibility standards are met
• Implement and maintain Kitces brand experience on site
• Assist in implementing and maintaining user data tracking strategies
• Coordinate with the Director of Platform and Lead Developer for sprint planning and task prioritization
• Work with and support external contractors when necessary
• Participate in code review, testing, and debugging with Platform team members
• Coordinate and collaborate with cross departmental teams to support their website user needs
• Scope out and estimate projects to help the Director of Platform manage the product roadmap

The following skills will be required:

• 5+ years of experience in front end development
• Has built elegant and user-friendly websites and applications
• Understand how business requirements link to user experience goals
• Has extensive experience with supporting WordPress sites
• Is experienced and comfortable working with ReactJS
• Has extensive experience in front end development languages including modern HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
• Understanding of software quality and quality assurance principles

Associate Financial Planning Nerd

Kitces.com is hiring an Associate Financial Planning Nerd who will be responsible for writing and supporting the creation of original Nerd’s Eye View articles (and doing the associated research and analysis) on topics of interest to the financial advicer community, supporting our financial planning Resources with timely updates, supporting on the development of our speaker presentations, and providing other support as needed to the Advisor Education team in the creation of our Members Section content.

Core responsibilities include following:

Annual Content Creation Responsibilities:
– Creation of 12 full-length articles for Nerd’s Eye View (1 every month) throughout the calendar year, including all related research and analysis, following the Kitces 3x3x3 content framework
– Support the blog creation process as need, including the development of relevant blog graphics to present key information, and supporting spreadsheet models where necessary to analyze key topics or issues
– Support the process of collecting and posting updated information for Kitces Resources
– Provide backup support to Senior Technical editor and Senior Financial Planning Nerd

Curation Responsibilities:
– Monitor industry trade and other publications for potential articles for Weekend Reading recap or social media sharing
– Support identification of prospective topics or Guest authors for Nerd’s Eye View blog posts
– Assist in reviewing Guest Post submissions to determine if appropriate to accept into the editing process

Other Responsibilities/Opportunities:
– Support in the creation of new or updated PowerPoint slide presentations based on existing articles and other site content

Future Opportunities:
– Serve as a paid Kitces Speaker for webinars or in-person conference events
